39 weeks and a false alarm

Quick update on me...

We ended up in L&D about 330am this morning. I woke up at midnight with contractions. A little before 2am they started getting very intense and were consistently 5 minutes apart. I called up to L&D and they suggested calling the OB on call. He called me back around 3am and told me to come in and they will check me.

I woke up the hubby, we got "A" and dropped her off at my parents house and headed to the hospital. Of course by the time we get there the contractions stop. Go figure....

They hooked me up to the monitors and the nurse came in to check me. I was only 2.5 cm. =( I was hoping I would be farther along! We tried to get some sleep. I woke up at 6am and realized nothing was happening. My hubby went and asked the nurse if we could just go home but they can't release me until a doctor sees me. Around 7am the contractions started back up again but were about 6-7 minutes apart.

Dr B (I was so glad to see him and not the doctor on call!) came in a little before 8am to check on me. I was 75% effaced, 2.5 cm dilated and the baby was at station -2. He was releasing me to go home and told me to come back when the contractions were 3-4 minutes apart. He's guessing I'll be back in 24-48 hours but only time will tell! He thinks my contractions (still only 6-7mins apart) are helping to thin my cervix. Let's hope so!

I asked him if I still needed to see him for my 10am office visit and he said no. ☺ If I don't have the baby before, I am to come back in on my due date - Friday April 10th.

Thankfully "A" was at my sister's house. She took her son and "A" to the zoo and park this morning which allowed My hubby and I to go home and get caught up on sleep. I had been awake since midnight and he since 3am. We took a nice long nap, went to town and had lunch together and then went and picked up "A" from my sister's house.

Now we are home just chilling.....waiting to see what is going to happen and when it's going to happen.
