Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

My poor "A" has Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. She has been complaining about her mouth and tongue hurting for the past few days. I just assumed it was from teething - she still hasn't gotten her 2yr molars yet.

It's been a rough few nights. She wakes up every 1-2 hours screaming in pain. I was chatting with a lady at church and she said her grandkids had just gotten over HFMD. She said to look into her mouth to see if she has an sores that look like canker sores. Sunday night her tongue was just red but by Monday morning there were the sores. No wonder she's in pain!

Why is it kids always get sick when you have a busy week ahead of you? This week is grocery shopping week and MOPS week. PLUS we are trying to get the house ready to move into. Thank goodness for Grandma! She watched her last night so My Hubby and I could go to the house and do more painting. We were going to move in this weekend but it appears we have run into a snag on the flooring. Moving day may be pushed back to next weekend.

As far as this pregnancy is going....so far so good. The nausea is better but I now have the same gag reflex that I had with "A". I still have to be really careful what I eat. Some foods really bother my stomach. My next appointment is a week from today!

we had a minor case of that in daycare. I read that popscicles are good for the mouth pain and it helps with dehydration.
